PURSUE | Second Face-to-Face Training Program

The second face-to-face training program of the PURSUE Project – Promoting Sustainable, Affordable Housing Construction Technologies Using Environmentally Sound Locally Available Resources was successfully held at Sakarya University on 7–9 September 2026.

Over three days, the program brought together theoretical sessions, laboratory practices, full-scale experimental studies, and technical field visits, providing participants with hands-on learning opportunities on sustainable construction technologies and locally available building materials.

Day 1 | Sakarya University

Participants explored empirical and standard testing methods for earth-based building materials and examined materials collected from traditional Turkish houses through laboratory applications.

Day 2 | Düzce University

The training continued with full-scale experimental studies, allowing participants to observe testing procedures and gain practical insight into the evaluation and interpretation of experimental results.

Day 3 | Taraklı, Sakarya

The program concluded with a technical field visit to Taraklı, where participants examined traditional Turkish houses, local construction techniques, and locally sourced building materials.

The training program strengthened the connection between academic knowledge, experimental practice, local building traditions, and sustainable construction approaches within the framework of the PURSUE Project.
